Zusammenfassung

Headland Archaeology seeks an experienced Built Heritage professional at Associate Director level to lead and develop historic building recording and buildings archaeology capability in the UK and internationally.

You will oversee investigation, recording, analysis, and interpretation of historic buildings, guiding projects from design through publication, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with colleagues across Headland and the RSK Group.

Qualifikationen

• Qualification in architectural history, buildings archaeology, or related subject.
• Significant experience in historic building recording and interpretation.
• Experience leading built heritage projects and publishing outputs.
• Knowledge of British architectural history.
• Excellent research and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring and leading teams.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel.

Aufgaben

• Lead historic Building Recording and buildings archaeology projects from scoping to archive.
• Interpret historic buildings using fabric, documentary and archival research.
• Design programmes of recording, review schemes and scopes of work.
• Produce and review high-quality Historic Building Recording reports and outputs.
• Provide specialist Historic Building Recording advice to heritage projects.
• Lead and coordinate project teams and external specialists.
• Build relationships with clients and heritage stakeholders, providing technical advice.
• Prepare and review fee proposals, budgets, and programmes.
• Provide technical leadership for Historic Building Recording standards and guidance.
• Mentor and develop junior colleagues and build capability.
