Job summary

Lonza is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist for Global Process Development in Slough, UK. You will lead cross-functional projects, provide subject matter expertise across bioprocess areas, and drive improvements in biologics drug substance development and manufacturing.

Qualifications

Extensive bioprocessing experience with downstream and biologic drug substance manufacturing.
Proven track record leading complex multi-site projects and matrix teams.
Expertise in at least two bioprocess development/manufacturing areas.
Experience with digital tools and data analysis to improve bioprocess performance.
Skilled in multivariate analysis, process optimization, root cause analysis.
Strong communication and stakeholder management; translate science to decisions.
Degrees (BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng); PhD preferred; business-fluent English.

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary projects implementing technology changes and meet milestones.
Lead matrix teams across functions and locations to secure alignment.
Provide SME across upstream, downstream, and/or bioconjugation for biologics.
Troubleshoot technical challenges using data analysis and root cause methods.
Monitor technical performance and address misalignment.
Present findings to internal/external stakeholders and influence decisions.
Coach scientists and contribute to scientific direction.
