Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer III to help design and build scalable microservices for a next‑gen core banking platform.

You will work on cloud-native solutions, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and support production deployments in a secure, resilient environment. The role involves secondment to a FinTech partner initially, gaining exposure to fintech operations while backed by JPMorgan Chase.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practice.
• Hands-on experience in system design, app development, testing, and stability.
• Proficient in at least one major language: Go, Python and/or Java.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience in automated tests as part of development.
• Knowledge of SDLC and agile CI/CD practices.
• Experience in large corporate environments with modern languages & DB querying.
• Familiarity with cloud providers and AI-assisted development tools; ability to assess AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and develop scalable, performant microservices using best practices.
• Write secure, high-quality code.
• Write automated unit tests, integration tests, etc.
• Produce architecture/design artifacts for complex apps and ensure constraints are met.
• Identify and address coding/data issues to improve architecture.
• Manage and troubleshoot deployments from test to production.
• Interface with other teams to ensure coherent feature delivery.
• Translate product requirements into trackable tickets.
• Contribute to engineering communities and adopt AI-assisted tooling.
