Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to core technical work on an agile team delivering secure, scalable technology across backend, distributed systems, and modern UI experiences. You will design systems, automate operations, and leverage enterprise AI-assisted tooling to improve code quality and delivery speed.

You will collaborate with product, UX, and other technologists to deliver robust features across the software development lifecycle, including incident analysis

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience in system design and API development in large environments.
• Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot and React with TypeScript.
• Experience building and consuming REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Strong SQL skills and relational DB knowledge (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes.
• Experience with event-driven/streaming architectures (Kafka).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver full-stack solutions using Java/Spring Boot and React/TypeScript with security, resiliency, and performance considerations.
• Collaborate with product and UX to refine designs and ensure accessible, consistent UI.
• Contribute to end-to-end delivery across the SDLC including testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build secure, production-ready UI using React/HTML/CSS with reusable components.
• Develop backend services and APIs with relational databases and enterprise systems.
• Contribute to event-driven and streaming architectures using Kafka.
• Support containerized delivery and CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes.
• Build and support scheduled jobs and batch processing (e.g., Spring Batch).
• Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and observability enhancements.
• Utilize enterprise AI coding assist tools and validate outputs through peer review and testing.
