Curtain Wall, Window & Door Designer
Location: Dover, Kent
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Hybrid Working Available

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced designer with expertise in curtain walling, windows, and doors to join an established design team working on a range of commercial projects across the South East.

This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of remote and on-site work, ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative yet independent working environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design process for new-build commercial glazing projects.
2. Review specifications and develop a clear design scope for CAD technicians.
3. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to meet design, cost, and compliance goals.
4. Produce high-quality technical drawings and AutoCAD design proposals.
5. Identify and mitigate design-related risks.
6. Respond to technical queries from initial design through to site installation.
7. Support project managers post-handover while maintaining technical oversight.

Requirements

1. Proven experience in a similar role within the commercial glazing sector.
2. Familiarity with projects valued up to £2 million.
3. Strong knowledge of relevant building regulations and British Standards.
4. Expertise in curtain walling, window, door, and glazing systems.
5. Ability to solve complex technical challenges effectively.
6. Good understanding of the impact of design decisions on site installation.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
8. Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings confidently.
9. Capable of working both independently and within a team setting.
10. Commercial awareness, including lead times and cost implications.
