Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with a glaucoma subspecialty to join our Eye Department. You will deliver specialist glaucoma care, lead service improvements and contribute to trainee education.

The role requires MRCOphth or equivalent, full GMC registration, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care within a multidisciplinary team in Leicester.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• MRCOphth or equivalent achieved.
• Full GMC registration with license to practice.
• Within six months of CCT or equivalent by interview date.

Responsibilities

• Provide glaucoma management and ophthalmic care.
• Assess and treat eye conditions and emergencies.
• Participate in teaching and supervision of trainees.
• Contribute to audit and service improvement.
