Job summary
Clayton Glass Ltd in Swindon is hiring a Manufacturing Operative to join our on-site production team. The role involves operating and supervising high-spec machinery, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement on the shop floor.
You will work full-time, 37.5 hours per week on rotating shifts, with an hourly rate of £13.05–£14.03, and you’ll be supported by a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for development at our British-owned, seven-site
Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or production setting with safety procedures.
- Knowledge of quality control and continuous improvement.
- Experience operating machinery and handling materials safely.
- Ability to read technical instructions or drawings.
- Proactive, reliable and detail-focused.
- Strong communication and teamwork.
- Able to meet physical requirements including lifting and standing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety, quality and productivity on the shop floor.
- Operate and oversee machines used in cutting, shaping, and processing glass.
- Load/unload glass and assemble IGUs and products.
- Conduct quality checks and assist root-cause analysis.
- Support onboarding and training of new operatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote health and safety practices.
