Job summary

SMS Specialist Recruitment Limited is assisting a Scotland-based precision engineering client in Glasgow. They seek two experienced CNC programmers/setters/operators for milling and turning, capable of reading drawings and programming to tight tolerances.

Candidates should excel in a small batch, prototyping environment and can work with minimal supervision. The role offers a 4‑day week option, overtime at premium rates, and a salary between £40,000 and £50,000 plus pension and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC equipment.
• Ability to read engineering/CAD drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Experience with small batch production and light precision CNC work.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC milling and turning machines.
• Manufacture low-volume batches and one-offs to exact specifications.
• Work from engineering drawings and maintain tight tolerances.
• Take initiative with minimal supervision; ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Utilise CAD concepts when required and communicate with the team.
