Job summary

Sumitomo Electric UK Power Cables Ltd. in Glasgow is seeking a Fixed Term Procurement Administrator to support the Procurement team with RFQs, purchase orders, supplier onboarding and general admin duties.

The role starts ASAP, is full-time and fixed-term until 31 March 2027, with a salary of £28,000 per annum. You will liaise with suppliers and internal Finance to ensure smooth purchasing processes and timely communication.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in administration, procurement support, purchasing or a similar office-based role would be beneficial.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with internal colleagues and external suppliers.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy working environment.
• Some flexibility to work additional hours during particularly busy periods would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with issuing RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to suppliers and processing quotations and purchase orders.
• Support the registration and onboarding of new suppliers.
• Assist with payment-related matters, including liaising with suppliers and internal Finance colleagues where required.
• Provide general administrative support to the Procurement team, including arranging meetings, supplier/client visits and other departmental activities.
• Maintain procurement records and documentation as required.
• Provide other reasonable administrative support to the Procurement team during busy periods.
