The Language Business is recruiting a German-speaking Management Accountant for a London hybrid role. You will deliver monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and insightful commercial analysis across UK and Europe.

You will partner with UK and German stakeholders, support ERP and finance processes, and contribute to continuous improvement in a growing international business.

Qualifications

• Fluent German and English language skills.
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant position or similar finance role.
• Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial data.
• Ability to work independently and build international stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in professional services, consulting, or international businesses advantageous.

About the Company

We are recruiting on behalf of an international consulting organisation for an experienced German speaking Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing UK business that operates as part of a larger European group.

Working closely with finance teams and senior stakeholders across the UK and Germany, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis. This position offers broad exposure across management accounting, business partnering, and financial planning within an international environment.

The Role

As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reporting, supporting business planning activities, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making across the organisation.

Management Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly management accounts and associated reporting packs
• Produce balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial controls are maintained
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and support working capital management
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial planning
• Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on key variances
• Prepare financial reports and management information for senior leadership
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with group reporting requirements and European finance submissions

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple business functions
• Deliver financial analysis and commercial insights to management teams
• Monitor departmental expenditure against budget and investigate variances
• Provide profitability analysis and support strategic decision-making
• Develop financial models and reporting tools to improve business visibility

Business Partnering

• Work closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial guidance
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the UK and Germany
• Support project accounting, resource planning, and utilisation reporting
• Assist department managers in understanding financial performance and key metrics
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies

Finance Operations & Compliance

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and credit control activities
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies
• Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and payroll providers
• Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
• Support banking administration and regulatory documentation

Systems & Process Improvement

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes
• Support the implementation and enhancement of finance systems and reporting tools
• Assist with ERP and accounting system projects where required
• Help drive efficiencies through automation and improved reporting processes

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Fluent German and English language skills
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant position or similar finance role
• Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
• The ability to work independently and build relationships with stakeholders internationally
• CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualification, part-qualification, or equivalent experience preferred
• Previous experience within professional services, consulting, or international businesses would be advantageous
