Job summary

Language Business is seeking a German-speaking Finance Manager in London with strong UK management accounting experience. You will oversee monthly accounts, forecasting, cash flow, budgeting, and financial reporting within a growing UK business that sits in a European group.

You will partner with senior stakeholders in the UK and Germany, manage ERP/PSA system integration, invoicing, payroll, and banking relationships, and support ERP projects across finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Fluent German and English language skills.
• Strong UK management accounting experience.
• Experience preparing monthly accounts, forecasts, cash flow reporting and budgets.
• Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system.
• Ability to work independently and partner with senior stakeholders internationally.
• CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualification, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in professional services, project accounting, or ERP/PSA systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts and annual budgets.

German speaking Finance Manager

About the Company

We are recruiting on behalf of an international consulting organisation for an experienced German speaking Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a broad finance function within a growing UK business that operates as part of a larger European group. Working closely with senior stakeholders in both the UK and Germany, you will oversee management accounting, financial planning, operational finance activities, and day-to-day finance operations.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the UK finance function whilst acting as a key finance contact between the UK business and the wider European finance team.

Management Accounting & Financial Planning

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including cash flow forecasts and annual forecasting
• Support budgeting, financial planning, and commercial analysis
• Produce financial reports and management information for senior leadership
• Coordinate annual group management charge reporting

Commercial & Operational Finance

• Prepare monthly reporting on timesheets, project activity, and utilisation
• Provide financial and operational insights to senior stakeholders
• Support the implementation and integration of ERP/PSA systems across finance and operational processes

Finance Operations

• Manage invoicing, accounts payable, expenses, payroll payments, and credit control
• Support new client onboarding from a finance perspective
• Liaise with external accounting, payroll, and audit providers
• Manage banking relationships, compliance documentation, and regulatory requirements

Business Support

• Manage supplier and recruitment contracts
• Coordinate office-related suppliers and IT hardware requirements
• Support a range of business administration and operational activities

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Fluent German and English language skills
• Strong UK management accounting experience
• Experience preparing monthly accounts, forecasts, cash flow reporting, and budgets
• Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system
• The ability to work independently and partner with senior stakeholders internationally
• CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualification, or equivalent experience (preferred)
• Experience within professional services, project accounting, or ERP/PSA systems would be advantageous
