Your mission:
You will be the driving force behind growing our lending portfolio in Germany by underwriting new loan applications. You will assess loans on their merits, make underwriting decisions on whether applications proceed to offer, and assist in overseeing an existing loan portfolio. You will report directly to the Head of Germany.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct financial analysis and due diligence of a wide variety of businesses in Germany;
- Analyze key items such as financial accounts, property valuations, credit searches, bank statements, and business appraisals to make informed lending decisions;
- Analyze construction/development budgets and appraisals;
- Price loans and determine terms, considering relevant risk and liquidity factors;
- Prepare and issue loan offers;
- Prepare detailed credit review papers and present them to the credit committee;
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and risk management guidelines;
- Own your own loan book, maintaining high standards of service and risk management;
- Partner closely with the Country Manager, Case Managers, solicitors, valuers, and surveyors;
- Play an integral part in scaling Fiduciam to a multi-billion success.
About you:
- Preferably two or more years of underwriting experience in bridging, development, or commercial lending;
- Knowledge of the German property market;
- Understanding of assessing credit risk, borrowing structures, RICS valuations, land registry records, reports on title, conveyancing, and credit reports;
- Good writing, analytical, and numerical skills;
- Highly organized, dedicated, and detail-oriented;
- A university degree with solid results (preferably in law, business, or economics);
- Hands-on, motivated, and proactive;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German;
- Eager to learn and push boundaries in a growing company;
- Enjoy working in an international environment;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools;
- Eligible to work in the UK.
