Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Older Adult and Frailty Psychiatry for Cove Ward, Longreach House, Redruth. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team delivering inpatient assessment, treatment and care for older adults and those with frailty.

The role involves contributing to ward rounds, MDT meetings, clinical reviews, and service development, with opportunities for teaching, research and professional development in a supportive, innovative service.

Qualifications

• Recognised basic Medical Degree and GMC registration in good standing.
• Evidence of Foundation competencies by time of appointment.
• Eligibility for ST1/CT1 competencies in a relevant specialty at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychiatric care for older adults and people with frailty admitted with acute mental health needs.
• Undertake assessments, develop and review treatment plans, manage complex cases, participate in ward rounds and MH Act processes.
• Support teaching, clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activities, and discharge planning.
