Job summary

Pentex Ltd in London is seeking a Senior Gerber Pattern Cutter to take ownership of patterns from fit approval through to bulk production. You will work at the sharp end of our pattern room, refining and problem-solving patterns with precision for scalable manufacturing.

This hands-on role requires proven expertise in Gerber, strong technical knowledge of garment construction, and the ability to communicate clearly with factories and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Garment Product Development, Garment Engineering or Fashion.
  • Significant experience in production pattern cutting in a supplier/manufacturing environment.
  • Expert-level experience on the Gerber system.
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit and grading across a full size range.
  • Proficient with Word and Excel.
  • Product knowledge across Womenswear, Girlswear and Babywear.
  • Clear, confident communicator with colleagues, factories and customers.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload.
  • Able to multi-task and problem-solve under pressure.
  • Highly motivated with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Taking development and fit-approved patterns through to production-ready patterns for bulk manufacture.
  • Amending and refining patterns at pre-production and production stage to resolve fit and construction issues before bulk cutting.
  • Compiling and maintaining accurate spec sheets and pattern packs, ensuring every measurement and construction detail is correct before it reaches the factory.
  • Working with trim templates and trim suppliers to ensure trims are graded correctly and sized accurately across the range.
  • Liaising directly with factories to troubleshoot pattern, fit and construction queries during production, providing clear and accurate technical solutions.
  • Suggesting improved pattern and construction methods to support factory efficiency and reduce production issues.
  • Keeping clear, accurate and up-to-date technical notes and records for every style and pattern amendment.
  • Working within a wider team of technicians, graders, marker makers/costings and machinists as required.
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of accuracy in every pattern cutting and grading task.

The Role

Would you like to join an innovative company as our Senior Gerber Pattern Cutter? You'll take ownership of patterns from fit approval through to bulk production, working at the sharp end of our pattern room to refine and problem-solve patterns with the technical precision that manufacturing at scale demands. This is a hands‑on, factory-facing role for an experienced production pattern cutter who takes pride in accuracy and consistency across every size and every style.

Your Experience
  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Garment Product Development, Garment Engineering or Fashion
  • Significant experience in production pattern cutting ideally gained within a supplier or manufacturing environment
  • Expert-level experience on the Gerber system
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit and grading across a full size range
  • Computer literate, with good working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Product knowledge across Womenswear, Girlswear and Babywear
  • Clear, confident communicator, able to feed back technical information to colleagues, factories and customers where required
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise workload according to the production schedule
  • Able to multi-task and problem-solve under pressure
  • Highly motivated with good interpersonal skills
