Job summary

Structural Soils, a member of the RSK Group, is seeking a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician to join the Hemel Hempstead team. You will perform soil tests such as water content, Atterberg limits, particle size distribution, and particle density, and you will accurately record the resulting data for analysis.

You will calibrate and maintain standard laboratory equipment, follow SHEQ procedures, and contribute to sample documentation.

Qualifications

• Previous geotechnical testing laboratory experience or interest in a laboratory technician career.
• Organised and methodical work style.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out soil testing and samples according to standard test methods.
• Record test data accurately for analysis.
• Conduct routine geotechnical tests following standard procedures.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Follow established SHEQ procedures.
• Record data and perform basic calculations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist in documentation and storage of samples.
• Identify and report deviations from procedures.
