Job summary

Kiwa CMT is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Site Technician for on-site work across Midlands projects and some lab duties at the Derby laboratory. You will conduct high-quality geotechnical testing and ensure equipment calibration and proper QC data recording in line with procedures.

Role requires knowledge of geotechnical testing methods, ability to train others, and flexible hours including potential overtime. A full UK driving licence and CSCS card are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in geotechnical testing.
• Knowledge of site and lab-based geotechnical test methods.
• Ability to support training and development of other technicians.
• Ability to calibrate test equipment.
• Motivated and focused with a positive outlook.
• Flexibility for overtime and weekend work.
• Ability to handle a varied workload.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Holds CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Carry out geotechnical site and laboratory testing.
• Ensure equipment is in current calibration and pre-test checks are completed.
• Ensure test equipment is checked regularly and any failures or damage is reported.
• Maintain and use equipment with due care; perform weekly checks.
• Record test information, results and QC data per procedures.
• Maintain good site working practices at all times.
