Job summary

Arcadis is offering an internship and placement programme in geotechnical engineering in the United Kingdom. You will gain hands-on experience on real projects and clients, supported by training and Arcadis’ values, during a 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement.

You will work on foundation, retaining wall, ground improvement, and earthworks designs, with exposure to desk studies, site investigations, reports, and geotechnical design solutions.

Qualifications

• You will be working towards a degree in a relevant subject.
• You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking and being a Team Player.
• You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (where possible we embrace virtual working)

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of foundation, retaining wall, ground improvement and earthworks designs, as well as undertaking desk studies and scoping intrusive ground investigations.
• Produce interpretive reports, geotechnical designs and recommendations for a variety of geotechnical design solutions.
• Use innovative digital tools for producing accurate ground models and analysis of geotechnical problems and design development.
