Phil Jones Associates Ltd in Birmingham seeks an enthusiastic Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer to join the Ground Engineering and Contaminated Land Team. Senior candidates considered and regular UK travel required for site work.

The role involves preparing Phase 1 Desk Studies, designing site investigations, soil logging, monitoring gas and groundwater, and compiling geotechnical and geo-environmental reports. Hybrid/office work offered.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years post-graduate experience in geotechnical consultancy.
• Experience with ground investigation data management software such as OpenGround.
• Ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports to a high standard.
• Membership of a professional organisation or working towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Phase 1 Desk Studies and site walkovers.
• Design, procure and monitor site investigations; manage contractors.
• Soil sampling and logging to relevant standards; gas and groundwater monitoring.
• Schedule laboratory testing and review contractor data and reports.
• Prepare Phase 2 geo-environmental interpretative reports and geotechnical design inputs.
