Job summary

Ayesa Engineering - UK & Ireland is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join a project team delivering robust geotechnical designs for diverse sectors. You will ensure designs meet the client’s brief, are completed on time, and that construction works reflect the design intent.

The role requires a degree in geotechnical fields, chartered status or ongoing progression, and at least 2 years’ experience. Strong reporting, communication skills, and software proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field and working towards chartered status
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in geotechnical works
  • Adheres to Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health and Safety Regulations
  • Strong communication with clients and colleagues, building effective relationships
  • Experience with report writing and presenting findings

Responsibilities

  • Deliver geotechnical designs that are robust, value-based and compliant with standards
  • Ensure designs are delivered on time and meet the client brief
  • Inspect construction work and ensure correct implementation of designs
  • Monitor processes to comply with safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements
  • Make appropriate judgments and exercise initiative
  • Assist at tender stage of projects
  • Manage projects in compliance with Ayesa Engineering's Integrated Management System (IMS)

Position
  • Working as a member of a project team to deliver quality services to clients
  • Ensures all geotechnical designs are in accordance with set standards and all recommendations are robust, value-based and commissionable
  • Ensures that designs are delivered on time to our clients and that the design fulfills the client’s brief
  • Inspects construction work and ensures that all aspects of design are correctly implemented
  • Monitors processes and results and ensure that they comply with relevant safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions and exercise initiative
  • Assisting at the tender stage of projects
  • Management of projects in compliance with Ayesa engineering's Integrated Management System (IMS)
Requirements
  • Can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships and always aiming to exceeding client expectations
  • Degree qualified in a relevant field and achieved/working towards chartered status
  • Adheres to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health and Safety Regulations
  • Represent and promote Ayesa in a professional manner and develop effective working relationships with clients and potential clients
  • Is committed to Continued Professional Development
  • Experience in the field of geotechnical works (minimum of 2 years’ experience)
  • Has proven technical knowledge of specific subject areas pertaining to geotechnical works, i.e.Pile designs, retaining walls design, deep excavations, deep basements, tunneling, earthworks etc.)
  • Proven ability to use relevant software
  • Experienced & confident with report writing and presentation skills
  • Experience working on rail projects would be desirable
