Bridgewater Consultancy UK Ltd in Manchester is recruiting an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to lead a growing geotechnical design team. This role blends hands-on design, project leadership and client relationship management.

You will take responsibility for technical delivery, manage ground investigations, oversee budgets and support business development while mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Geotechnical degree with Chartered status (or working towards it) and has

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design projects for UK infrastructure.
• Provide foundation design, slope stability, earthworks and ground improvement guidance.
• Review and approve geotechnical interpretative and factual reports, and technical design deliverables.
• Manage ground investigation subcontractors, including specification, procurement, supervision and quality control.
• Oversee ground investigation programmes, ensuring delivery within budgets and timescales.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to tenders, bids and fee proposals.
• Support the growth of the Manchester geotechnical team through recruitment, mentoring and development.
• Manage project budgets, resources and commercial performance.
• Ensure designs comply with Eurocodes, UK standards and industry requirements.
