Job summary

The Crown Estate is seeking a Geospatial Technician to support the GIS Team in delivering routine geospatial tasks and data processing. You will focus on data capture, map production and quality assurance across ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and related tools, contributing to a broad portfolio of land, marine and energy assets.

We welcome candidates early in their geospatial career who can work with established procedures, templates and deadlines while escalating more complex requirements to the GIS

Qualifications

• Practical experience using GIS to capture and update spatial data.
• Ability to create maps and deliver basic spatial analysis using GIS software.
• Familiarity with the ESRI ArcGIS platform, especially ArcGIS Pro.
• Understanding of coordinate systems, data quality and metadata.
• Clear communication with colleagues and requestors.
• Strong attention to detail to avoid errors in spatial records.
• Ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine mapping, data-processing and standard geospatial analysis tasks.
• Support transactional GIS tasks for legal transactions and asset management.
• Undertake proximity checks to assess spatial implications of developments.
• Maintain accurate geospatial datasets and ensure data quality.
• Produce maps and spatial outputs per specifications and templates.
• Review sources and extract spatial information following procedures.
• Perform quality-control checks before issuing work and update records.
