Job summary

Murphy Geospatial – A Woolpert Company, London-based, seeks a practical Monitoring Engineering Technician to support installation, maintenance and operation of specialist monitoring equipment across UK projects.

You will work with surveyors and engineers to build technical expertise, travel to project sites as required, and report to the Operations Manager – Monitoring UK, ensuring accurate data and safe practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in monitoring/surveying/site-based roles.
• Knowledge of monitoring systems and survey techniques.
• Understanding of monitoring software and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings and monitor requirements.
• Prepare and transport monitoring equipment to sites.
• Install and configure monitoring instrumentation per specs.
• Test data collection systems and verify operation.
• Conduct site visits to inspect and maintain equipment.
• Record installation details and handover documentation.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Follow risk assessments and safety procedures.
