Job summary

Murphy Geospatial – A Woolpert Company invites applications for a Monitoring Surveyor based in London. You will lead survey works on varied projects, using total stations, GNSS and data collectors, and support senior surveyors on larger scopes.

The role requires 2–5 years’ site survey experience, a CSCS card, knowledge of the UK construction industry, and a full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel nationwide and adherence to safety standards are essential.

• CSCS card is essential; relevant qualifications or experience considered.
• Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry.

• Full UK Manual Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver survey works on small to medium projects.
• Undertake various survey tasks using total stations, GNSS, and data collectors.
• Support senior surveyors on larger projects.
• Record surveying information on site to the agreed specification and scope.
• Process data from the field into the office, post-processing with AutoCAD.
• Assist with detailed field and office surveying assignments.
• Ensure that all survey equipment is maintained and well kept.
• Deliver to company policies, procedures, standards and best practices.
• Any other duties as required by the business.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Monitoring Surveyor to join our Monitoring Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience using monitoring equipment, looking to work on a variety of high-profile projects within the fast-paced geospatial industry. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Operations Manager. The role is based in London and will involve travel to project sites across the UK as required.

What You Will Do

• Lead and successfully deliver survey works on small to medium-sized or moderately complex projects.
• Undertake various types of survey work using a variety of specialised and exciting equipment and technology such as total stations, GNSS and data collectors.
• Support Principal and Senior Surveyors in larger or more complex projects.
• Record surveying information accurately and consistently on site to the agreed specification and scope.
• Process data from the field into the office, post-processing with software such as AutoCAD.
• Assist with detailed field and office surveying assignments.
• Ensure that all survey equipment is maintained and well kept.
• Deliver to company policies, procedures, standards and best practices.
• Any other duties as required by the business.

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of 2-5 years’ site survey experience using survey instruments.
• Relevant Qualifications and/or relevant experience (Relevant CSCS card essential).
• Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry
• Experience of working to high safety standards.
• Knowledge of role-related post-processing software.
• Full UK Manual Driver’s Licence.
• Flexibility to travel nationwide as required by our clients.
• Successful completion of onsite medical.
• The right to work in the UK.
