Job summary

RSK Ireland Ltd. seeks an experienced Geoscientist at consultant level in Belfast, on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on planning, reporting, and managing site investigations for environmental projects across sectors, with CPD and career progression on offer.

You will draft technical reports, supervise intrusive investigations, monitor groundwater and ground gas, and coordinate diverse projects while ensuring compliance with UK/Ireland environmental legislation.

Qualifications

• BSc degree level in Geology or related Environmental subject.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the field.
• Understanding of laboratory testing and interpretation of results.
• Knowledge of contaminated land, waste and planning legislation in UK/Ireland.
• Experience designing, supervising and managing environmental site investigations.
• Understanding of environmental guidance and legislation.
• Experience budgeting and managing project costs.
• Knowledge of QGIS, ARCgis or CAD is a plus.
• Willingness to spend significant time on site and away from home.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Drafting of technical reports in support of planning applications.
• Supervising and managing intrusive site investigations for environmental purposes.
• Groundwater and ground gas monitoring to relevant standards.
• Undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments / Preliminary Site Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies).
• Drafting of Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments.
• Supporting and coordinating a variety of projects.
• Preparing health and safety documentation, booking subcontractors and scheduling soil and water samples for analytical testing.
• Maintain and develop technical capability through CPD.
