Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Geography Teacher to join the Barnsley team for immediate start. The role involves delivering engaging Geography lessons across key stages, with a focus on physical and human geography and developing analytical thinking in students.

The position offers flexible day-to-day/long-term arrangements, with competitive daily rates and a commitment to safeguarding. QTS or equivalent is required, and an enhanced DBS is expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across relevant key stages.
• Explore physical, human, and environmental geography through varied activities.
• Use maps, data, case studies, and digital resources to strengthen understanding.
• Encourage students to investigate geographical issues and evaluate evidence.
• Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to support development.
