Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting Geography teachers to support secondary schools across Birmingham and Solihull with flexible supply, short-term and longer-term teaching opportunities.

We welcome qualified Geography specialists who can deliver engaging lessons, manage diverse classes, and contribute to wider Humanities work. Opportunities exist across East Birmingham, South Birmingham and Solihull.

Qualifications

• Qualified Geography teacher with QTS or QTLS
• Experience delivering Geography in a secondary school
• Secure subject knowledge across KS3/KS4 curriculum
• Strong behaviour management and clear expectations
• Comfort delivering SEND and EAL considerations
• Flexible, professional and adaptable approach

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Geography lessons across KS3/KS4.
• Teach physical and human Geography, incl. climate, ecosystems, population, development and global challenges.
• Support GCSE Geography study.
• Plan and adapt lessons for different abilities and learning needs.
• Maintain positive classroom routines and manage behaviour effectively.
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback as required.
• Support wider Humanities teaching where appropriate.

Aspire People is expanding its network of Geography specialists to support secondary schools throughout the area, including East Birmingham, South Birmingham and Solihull. We're particularly interested in teachers who combine strong subject knowledge with confident classroom and behaviour management, and who can deliver engaging lessons across the secondary Geography curriculum. Whether you're an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge, an ECT looking to gain experience or a Geography specialist interested in flexible supply work, we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE WE RECRUITING FOR?

We are recruiting Geography Teachers for consideration for future daily supply, short-term cover, regular weekly bookings and longer-term teaching assignments.

• Delivering engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teaching physical and human Geography, including climate, ecosystems, population, development and global challenges.
• Supporting pupils studying GCSE Geography.
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet different abilities and learning needs.
• Maintaining positive classroom routines and managing behaviour effectively.
• Assessing pupil progress and providing feedback where required.
• Supporting wider Humanities teaching where appropriate to your experience.

Experience teaching A-Level Geography or supporting geographical fieldwork would be an advantage for relevant assignments.

Long-term positions may involve additional planning, marking and departmental responsibilities.

These are prospective opportunities across multiple schools, rather than a confirmed vacancy at one specific school.

We are looking for qualified teachers with:

• QTS or QTLS and a Geography teaching specialism.
• Experience delivering Geography within a secondary school environment.
• Secure subject knowledge across the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
• Strong behaviour management and the ability to establish clear expectations.
• Confidence adapting teaching for mixed-ability classes, including SEND and EAL pupils.
• A professional, reliable and adaptable approach.

Teachers with a Geography specialism who are also confident delivering History or Religious Studies are particularly encouraged to apply, as this may broaden the range of suitable Humanities opportunities.
