Job summary

Teach South Kent is assisting a well-regarded secondary school in Wadhurst, East Sussex, to appoint a Geography Teacher for a full-time maternity cover starting January 2027.

You will teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, plan and deliver engaging lessons, and work closely with the Geography department to support students' progress while contributing to wider school life. QTS or equivalent experience is required.

Geography Teacher – Maternity Cover

Location: Wadhurst, East Sussex

Start Date: January 2027

Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover

Pay: £32,000 – £51,000 per annum (MPS1 – UPS3, dependent on experience)

Teach South Kent are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Wadhurst who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Geography Teacher for a full-time maternity cover position starting in January 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher looking for a new role from January, joining a supportive department and contributing to the continued development of Geography across the school.

The Role

• Teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Full-time maternity cover from January 2027
• Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons

The Ideal Candidate

• Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or relevant teaching experience
