Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Geoenvironmental Engineer for a Leeds-based role covering site and office work across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. You will advance from initial investigations through to assessment and remediation, handling Phase 1/2 desk studies, supervising site investigations and coordinating with clients and laboratories.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related subject.
• Good report-writing skills and understanding of UK contaminated land guidance.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and confidence working both on site and in the office.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 site investigations.
• Supervise ground investigations including soil and groundwater sampling.
• Assess ground contamination risks and interpret laboratory results.
• Prepare factual and interpretative reports (PRA, GQRA).
• Support remediation strategies and validation works.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, laboratories and project team members.
• Ensure site works are completed safely and in line with guidance.
