Job description

Join to apply for the Geo Environmental Associate Director role at RPS.

We are seeking an Associate Director to join our Environmental Compliance and Ground Engineering Team across various UK locations.

RPS projects are all around you. We define, design, and manage projects that create shared value in a complex, urbanising, and resource-scarce world. Our success depends on our people, who share our passion for solving important problems. With us, you'll find challenging and rewarding work, supported every step of the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

This key position involves supporting a team of geoenvironmental specialists in delivering desk studies, ground investigations, GIR/GDR reports, remedial methodologies, validation reports, Material Management Plans, waste management, waste classification, coal mining risk assessments, mineral assessments, and high-quality development advice.

You will manage all aspects of ground condition delivery and multidisciplinary consenting, due diligence, and construction projects across the UK. This includes client engagement, project delivery, technical coordination, client liaison, financial management, and handling projects of various scales from residential to large construction.

You will also coordinate major bids involving multidisciplinary and ground condition-related work.

Key Responsibilities

We seek a highly organised, excellent communicator, commercially savvy individual who leads projects proactively. Strong technical knowledge of ground assessments and an understanding of wider disciplines like ecology, archaeology, and flood risk are desirable. Experience with contract management, especially NEC contracts, is also preferred.

This role suits someone with significant project delivery experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy, who enjoys diverse projects, is eager to learn, and is a natural problem solver.

What’s in it for you?

We offer a competitive salary, various benefits including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, options to purchase extra days, pension scheme, disability scheme, share incentives, life assurance, cycle to work, health screening, employee assistance, dental cover, professional memberships, and discounts through BenefitHub.

We are an accredited training provider supporting professional development from entry level to master's qualifications, with a clear career pathway and support for your growth.

Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options, are available to support work-life balance. Join us and be part of a workplace where you're valued as part of the solution.
