Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Quality Lead for the Wessex Genomics Laboratory Service on a 12-month fixed-term basis. You will oversee quality, governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance across Southampton and Salisbury laboratories to ensure safe, high-quality genomic services.

Reporting to the WGLS Operations Manager and Pathology Risk and Governance Manager, you will drive the QMS, audits, and UKAS accreditation activities, and lead continuous

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and developing a QMS with audits, incident management, change control and quality improvement processes.
• Qualified MSc or IBMS Higher Specialist Certificate with HCPC/AHCS registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality management systems across Southampton and Salisbury sites.
• Coordinate UKAS assessments, accreditation activities, and regulatory inspections.
• Oversee internal audit programme against ISO 15189 and drive continual improvement.
• Manage risk, promote a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement.
