Job summary

Newton Colmore in Cambridge is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support genomics instrumentation development. You will contribute to the design and development of devices that enable high-throughput workflows and precision diagnostics.

From concept and prototyping through design for manufacture to product launch, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team and help deliver robust medical instruments with regulatory awareness (ISO 13485, FDA QSR).

Qualifications

• Experience in product design and development, ideally within medical devices, diagnostics, or scientific instrumentation.
• Background in mechanical engineering is essential.
• Experience working in regulated environments (ISO 13485, FDA QSR) would be highly beneficial.

• Contribute to the design and development of innovative devices that enable high-throughput genomic workflows and precision diagnostics.
• Involved in the full product lifecycle—from concept development and prototyping through to design for manufacture and product launch.
