Job summary

Altos Labs in Cambridge, UK, seeks a Manager or Senior Manager to lead the Genomics Hub operations within the Institute of Technology. This role is responsible for operational execution of genomics support for R&D and translational teams, and for managing resources and personnel to meet ambitious scientific objectives.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in NGS workflows, experience leading technical teams, and a track record of implementing standardized processes in a fast-paced biotech

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelors or Masters in genetics, genomics, or molecular biology.
• Manager: 5–7 years progressive genomics lab experience with 3+ years direct supervisory experience.
• Senior Manager: 8–10 years genomics experience with proven leadership and cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Genomics Hub operations and SOPs.
• Provide hands-on wet-lab support for RNAseq, ATACseq, and single-cell genomics.
• Manage data handling: demultiplexing, run QC, and prep for analysis.
• Lead hub projects and align activities with milestones and goals.
• Administer equipment, maintenance, and budget feasibility.
• Consult on experimental design and data collection with researchers.
• Collaborate on evaluating and implementing new technologies and assays.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication with R&D and translational teams.
