Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences in Milton Keynes is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our NGS Lab team at the earliest possible time. You will perform a range of sample-processing activities and carry out DNA sequencing using next-generation analysers to support customer projects.

The role requires a BSc in biological sciences, strong communication, and the ability to follow SOPs. ISO 15189/9001 experience is preferred, and there are extensive training and development opportunities within a growing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of standard laboratory processes.
• Ability to follow and contribute to SOPs.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sequencing experience (NGS) preferred.
• ISO 15189 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample-accessioning, QC, normalisation, library prep and post-prep QC.
• Carry out DNA sequencing using NGS analysers.
• Maintain sample integrity and processing records.
• Work in compliance with ISO 15189 and ISO 9001.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Maintain a clean working environment in the lab.
• Check inventory and replenish sequencing consumables.
• Report issues, support troubleshooting and follow SOPs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team and company goals.
