Job summary

Arabelle Solutions is seeking a Generator Winder to support generator and exciter installations, inspections, maintenance, fault finding and repairs from minor works to full rewinds. You will work with windings for water, air, or hydrogen cooled units up to 1800MW and interpret complex harness and winding diagrams as part of a global project team.

You will need a time served apprenticeship in armature winding and relevant electrical qualifications, with strong brazing, testing, and IT skills,

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship in armature winding of heavy electrical machines.
• City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in electrical machines.
• Extensive knowledge of brazing techniques and electrical testing.

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical winding diagrams and apply correct inspection solutions.
• Perform inspections and minor repairs on generator windings.
• Rewind generator stators/rotors/exciters as required.
• Support fault finding and diagnostic tests, including low flux tests.
• Travel to project sites across the UK and overseas as needed.

As a Generator Winder you will be required to support our internal and external customers with Generator and Exciter installations, inspection, maintenance, fault finding & repairs including Minor Repair works through to full Rewinds. Generators are Water Cooled, Air Cooled or Hydrogen & ranging from 2MW through to 1800MW. This position requires technical competence in reading and interpreting engineering documents including but not restricted to previous Outage Plans, Technical & Quality instructions, winding diagrams and Engineering drawings.
