Job summary

Arabelle Services UK Ltd is seeking a Generator Winder to support customers with installations, inspections, and repairs of generator windings and exciters. The role covers water‑cooled, air‑cooled or hydrogen‑cooled generators from 2MW to 1800MW, requiring strong interpretation of engineering documents and deep generator knowledge.

You will read winding diagrams, perform fault finding, and execute windings repairs across UK and overseas projects.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in armature winding of heavy electrical machines.
• Fluent English in spoken and written form.
• Proficiency in electrical testing basics and reading technical diagrams.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical winding diagrams and apply winding processes on inspections and repairs.
• Perform inspections and minor repair works on generator windings.
• Conduct fault finding on windings and assist with diagnostic tests.
• Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild generator rotors, stators and exciters.
• Rewind generator stators, rotors and exciters as required.
• Work under Foreign Material Exclusion rules and comply with safety standards.
