Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Generator Technician / Field Service Engineer to join an established power business in the Suffolk area. The role blends depot-based maintenance with field service on diesel generators and associated equipment across the UK.

You will service, fault-find and repair equipment to keep it reliable, safe and ready for operation, with opportunities to work from a depot and at customer sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
• Experience with diesel generators, diesel engines, alternators or power equipment.
• Experience with fault-finding, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable for the field-based element.
• Candidates from Armed Forces / Military engineering background encouraged to apply.
• Experience maintaining generators, diesel engines, electrical systems or similar equipment will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on diesel generators and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults on generators.
• Undertake preventative maintenance and planned servicing to ensure equipment remains operational and reliable.
• Prepare generators and power equipment for hire, deployment and customer use.
• Complete inspections, testing and pre-delivery checks on equipment.
• Attend customer sites to carry out breakdown repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Travel to customer sites across the region and wider UK when required.
