Areté Learning Trust is seeking a committed General Technician to support our Art and Food Technology departments in Northallerton. You will prepare equipment, manage stock and materials, and assist staff and students to run practical lessons safely and smoothly.

The role emphasises excellent organisation, strong communication, teamwork and a proactive approach to safeguarding and school events. Experience in a school setting is helpful but not essential.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic General Technician to join our support staff team. This varied and rewarding role will primarily support our Art and Food Technology departments, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely. You will prepare resources and equipment, manage stock and materials, maintain specialist areas and provide practical support to staff and students. About the Role The successful candidate will:

• Prepare equipment, materials and resources for practical lessons.
• Support the safe and effective delivery of practical activities.
• Maintain stock levels, inventories and departmental records.
• Receive and store deliveries and assist with ordering supplies.
• Support the display of student work and curriculum events.
• Help maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene.
• Provide practical support for school events, exhibitions and enrichment activities
• Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Can work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enjoys working as part of a team.
• Has experience in a practical, technical or support role.
• Is committed to safeguarding and supporting young people.
• Experience of working in a school environment, and knowledge of Art or Food Technology, would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Have high expectations of themselves and the people they work with.
