Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a GP to deliver patient care across face-to-face, telephone, and remote consultations in a busy primary care setting in the United Kingdom. You will diagnose, treat, refer, and create patient care plans while ensuring safety and high standards of clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities include prescribing, handling repeats, processing lab results, maintaining EMIS Web records, and contributing to audits and QOF workflows as part of a strong multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a license to practice and entry on the UK GP Register.
• Inclusion on a local NHS Medical Performers List.
• Commitment to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and annual appraisals.

Responsibilities

• Manage face-to-face, telephone, and remote/video patient consultations.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe medications and handle repeat prescription requests.
• Make safe, independent decisions and create patient care plans.
• Make appropriate clinical referrals to secondary or community care.
• Complete occasional home visits if deemed clinically necessary.
• Process lab results, clinical letters, and workflow tasks promptly.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous patient records using clinical system EMIS Web.
• Engage in clinical governance, audits, and Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) workflows.
• Attend internal practice meetings and multidisciplinary team (MDT) updates.
