Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered GP to work with a Rainham-based practice, offering flexible, well-organised sessions within a supportive primary care environment that provides a clear structure for daily clinical work.

You will manage a varied caseload, perform high-quality patient assessments, and deliver continuity where required, with strong administrative support and established workflows to help session delivery.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered GP with current license.
• Experience in UK primary care settings.
• Proven clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• DBS clearance and NHS Performers List status.

Responsibilities

• Run routine GP clinics and manage urgent presentations.
• Provide telephone triage and advice as part of daily workflow.
• Review investigations, results and medication queries.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately.
• Document consultations in the clinical system.
• Support the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks.
• Adapt to ad-hoc or regular session bookings.

Key Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases
• Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries
• Prescribing safely and appropriately
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks

Requirements

• GMC-registered General Practitioner
• Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List
• Recent UK primary care experience
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

• Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions
• Full-day or half-day availability
• Ongoing bookings with potential for long‑term arrangements
