Job summary

Military Medical Personnel (MMP) is seeking a Locum General Practitioner to cover a MoD assignment at Cottesmore Medical Centre, Oakham, Leicestershire. 37 hours per week, delivering high standards of care to MoD personnel. Closing date: 21 September 2026.

Pay rates: PAYE £60.10/hr, Self-employed £69.12/hr. Must have GMC registration, current appraisal, safeguarding certs, and NHS Performer number. Block of responsibilities includes PHC clinics and OH fitness-for-work assessments.

Qualifications

• Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the main register and on the GMC GP Register without restrictions.
• Current, satisfactory in-date annual appraisal per GMC Good Medical Practice.
• Certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to Level 3 training.
• Must be on the UK NHS Performers List and provide an NHS Performer number.

Responsibilities

• Undertake PHC clinics for Military and entitled personnel.
• Examinations and OH fitness-for-work assessments within scope of experience and qualification.
• Inform local medical authority of cases affecting a serviceperson’s duties.
• Complete reports/documentation per MOD policy or other government department requirements.
• Attend management reviews or case conferences with PHC and/or line management.

• To complete reports and documentation in accordance with MODpolicy or the requirements of any other government department.
• To attend individual management reviews or case conferences withPrimary Healthcare (PHC) and/or line management as required.
