Job summary

Dental Practitioner role for the Ministry of Defence at Bulford Dental Centre, Salisbury. This locum position is 37 hours per week, with pay rates of PAYE £48.68 per hour or Self-employed £55.98 per hour. You will deliver a high standard of care to MoD personnel and meet daily clinical targets.

Applicants must be fully GDC registered, with UK Foundation Training or equivalent experience, and hold indemnity with a recognised defence organisation. Compliance checks and CPD are required.

Qualifications

• Fully registered with the GDC without restrictions.
• Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK, or evidence of at least 12 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience in primary dental care.
• Must hold valid indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
• Evidence of clinical currency per JSP 950 guidance (min 2 clinical sessions/week over last 15 months).
• CPD including medical emergencies, safeguarding children/adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection.
• Must have completed health clearance checks for exposure prone procedures as per DoH policy.
• Safeguarding Children and Young People and Saf safeguarding Adults Level 3 training.

Responsibilities

• To work independently and provide a full range of dental treatment to maintain oral health and perform related admin duties to support personnel dental fitness.
• To assist the Senior Dental Officer or work independently to achieve dental fitness targets as per SG Policy and Standards Document (P&SD).
• Ensure not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for direct patient contact.
• Ensure all treatment is correctly recorded on the electronic health record and relevant FMed documents.

Dental Practitioner

We are looking for a Locum Dental Practitioner/LocumDentist to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Bulford Dental Centre, in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

This is a locum role (37 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.

Main duties of the job

Qualifications

• Essential Requirements/ Qualifications/ Experience:
• Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions.
• Certified completion of Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK, or have evidence of at least 12 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience derived in a primary dental care setting, or have qualified before foundation training became compulsory in the NHS.
• Must hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
• Must provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4 Returning to Clinical Practice, specifically a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the last 15 months.
• To have completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection.
• To be trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures and have practised and tested these procedures at least annually in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and JSP 950 Leaflet 4-6-1 DMS CPR Standards and Training.
• Must have undertaken the additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures (in accordance with the Department of Health policy entitled Health clearance for tuberculosis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV: New Healthcare Workers).
• Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
