Job summary

Needham Market Country Practice is recruiting a salaried GP for up to 8 sessions a week, working within a six-partner GMS practice. Responsibilities

• Routine and urgent consultations, face-to-face, remote and by telephone

• Managing pathology results, correspondence and workflow tasks
• Making referrals to secondary care and community services
• Care planning and continuity for patients with long-term needs
• Health promotion and preventative care advice
• Accurate clinical records on SystmOne, meeting coding standards
• Safeguarding vulnerable children and adults
• Quality improvement, clinical audit and governance activities

Job description

Needham Market Country Practice is recruiting a salaried GP for up to 8 sessions a week, working within a six-partner GMS practice. The role centres on routine and urgent consultations, both in person and remotely, alongside diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, prescribing and home visits. The practice serves over 13,800 patients from a purpose-built surgery and works closely with pharmacists, mental health practitioners and social prescribers. Applicants need full GP qualification, a GMC licence to practise and a place on the NHS England Medical Performers List.

What the job involves

• Routine and urgent consultations, face-to-face, remote and by telephone
• Assessing, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions
• Prescribing and reviewing medications in line with best practice and guidance
• Home visits where clinically required
• Managing pathology results, correspondence, clinical reports and workflow tasks
• Making referrals to secondary care and community services
• Working with pharmacists, mental health practitioners, social prescribers and other team members
• Care planning and continuity for patients with long-term and complex needs
• Health promotion and preventative care advice
• Accurate clinical records on SystmOne, meeting coding and documentation standards
• Safeguarding vulnerable children and adults
• Quality improvement, clinical audit and governance, and support for QOF, Enhanced Services and PCN objectives
