Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Salaried GP for Irchester Surgery, working across its own site and Summerlee Medical Centre in Finedon, 4 to 6 sessions a week. Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Salaried GP post at Irchester Surgery, working across its own site and Summerlee Medical Centre in Finedon on 4 to 6 sessions a week. The work centres on clinic sessions, patient contact by phone and in person, home visits, referrals, reviewing results and hospital letters, medication reviews and duty doctor cover. The post also involves leading in a clinical area such as safeguarding or diabetes, with the practice serving around 4,100 registered patients. Applicants need full GMC registration and completed GP training or equivalent experience.

What the job involves

• Undertake clinic sessions of around 4 hours 10 minutes each
• Provide face-to-face and telephone advice to patients
• Carry out home visits as required
• Complete referral letters in a timely manner
• Review laboratory results, hospital letters and discharge summaries
• Conduct medication reviews, manage EPS repeat prescriptions, sign repeats and address medication queries
• Participate in the duty doctor system
• Record patient contact and keep patient records to professional standards, complying with safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and data protection policies
• Support clinical and administrative staff with on-site clinical queries and collaborate with nurses and allied health professionals
• Work towards QOF, LCS, LIS, DES and PCN targets and initiatives
• Take part in clinical audits, practice training, meetings and CPD, and contribute to improving practice systems
• Take on a lead role in a clinical or service area, such as safeguarding, diabetes or elderly care, supporting colleagues
