Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Shah Zaman Surgery. This part-time role, initially for 8 hours per week, is offered under the NHS DES ARRS contract and involves working alongside nurses, GPs, GP Assistants, Physician Associates, pharmacists, mental health nurses, and First Contact Practitioners (FCP). The successful candidate will be flexible and able to provide cover for existing nursing staff during periods of leave, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining the high standards of our practice. An ARTP-certified nurse with experience in spirometry is preferred. Please note that hours may increase based on service needs.
Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive nursing care within the practice. Responsibilities include developing and implementing care programmes for frail and housebound patients, promoting health and wellbeing initiatives, and assessing patient needs to provide evidence-based treatment plans for chronic and acute conditions. Additional duties include delivering wound care, reviewing patient medications, managing chronic disease and well-person clinics, assisting with minor surgery, administering vaccination programmes, and supporting patients with mental health needs. The role also involves safeguarding responsibilities, liaising with external agencies to support vulnerable patients, and ensuring all clinical practices comply with local and national guidelines.

- Proficient in wound care including removal of sutures and staples.
