Job summary

CareerMakers Recruitment is seeking operatives for a client in Leeds, LS27. You will load and position steel components into a CNC machine and operate the controls to start and stop the machine, while monitoring production for proper operation.

Role includes basic quality checks, following drawings and procedures, keeping the area clean, reporting faults, and strict PPE/health and safety adherence. Shifts are Mon–Fri, 6pm–6am or 6am–6pm.

Responsibilities

• Load and position steel components into the CNC machine.
• Operate the machine using the designated controls and start/stop buttons.
• Monitor the machine during production to ensure it is operating correctly.
• Remove finished steel components and place them in the appropriate area.
• Carry out basic visual and dimensional quality checks.
• Follow production instructions, drawings, and workplace procedures.
• Keep the machine and work area clean and organised.
• Report machine faults, damaged materials, or quality issues to a supervisor.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
• Maintain a steady production rate while ensuring safety and product quality.
