Qualifications

• Previous experience in labouring, warehouse, yard operative or general operative roles.
• Hardworking and reliable attitude, able to carry out physically demanding work.
• Good awareness of health and safety procedures and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, flexible to working indoors and outdoors.
• Experience using power tools and an FLT and working with steel product range.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move materials safely around the workshop and yard.
• Prepare and organise products ready for storage, collection and delivery.
• Keep the yard and work areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Support stock control and carry out general labouring duties as required.
• Work as part of a team to meet deadlines while following health and safety procedures.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing team in Morley.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will support the day-to-day production process, helping to ensure products are manufactured efficiently and to a high standard. The successful candidate will be willing to learn, work well as part of a team, and take pride in producing quality work.

Their LEEDS-based facility is based just a few minutes from the M62 and M1 motorways, meaning the successful candidate will easily be able to commute from surrounding towns & cities, including Wakefield, Bradford, Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

Key Responsibilities of the General Operative

• Load, unload and move materials safely around the workshop and yard.
• Prepare and organise products ready for storage, collection and delivery.
• Keep the yard and work areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Support stock control and carry out general labouring duties as required.
• Work as part of a team to meet deadlines while following health and safety procedures.

Working Hours of the General Operative

• Monday- Thursday: 07:30-16:30
• Friday- 07:30-12:30

In Return, the General Operative will receive

• Hourly Rate: £14.05 Per Hour
• Early finish on a Friday
• 34 days paid holiday
• Cycle to work scheme
• Option to purchase an extra 4 holidays.
