Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a General Operative to join our team at the Buxton concrete plant. You will assist with concrete operations, support the plant supervisor, and help maintain a safe, efficient site.

The role is full-time and permanent, offering a tailored salary, pension, holidays, and progression opportunities within a leading construction materials group.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with drivers and colleagues.
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers to wheel barrow concrete from mixer to required location.
• Support the plant supervisor with the production of concrete blocks.
• General maintenance and housekeeping of the site, aiming for high standards and site improvements.
• Ensure concrete orders are dispatched to meet customer requirements and handle administration tasks.
• Be flexible to undertake other tasks on this site or at other nearby sites.
• Commitment to achieving world class safety standards.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a General Operative to join our team at our concrete plant at RT Mycock, Buxton, Derbyshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting customers to wheel barrow concrete from volumetric mixer to desired location
• Support the concrete plant supervisor with the running of the plant, specifically with the production of the concrete blocks.
• General maintenance and housekeeping of the site, to a high standard and actively identifying and implementing site improvements.
• You will ensure that concrete orders are dispatched to meet customer requirements and conduct administration tasks.
• You will be required to be flexible in duties undertaken, carrying out other tasks on this site or at other sites in the area
• We would like to hear from you if you are keen to make a positive difference to our business and the service received by customers. A commitment to achieving world class safety standards.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with our drivers and other colleagues are all important.
• It would be an advantage if you have worked in a similar role before and have a good understanding of production in a concrete plant, however full training will be provided.
