A leading healthcare organization is seeking a General Manager to oversee the Trauma and Orthopaedics division. This role involves strategic planning, performance management, and leadership of clinical teams. The position offers a significant career advancement opportunity within a large organization committed to exceptional patient care.
Job summary
The Division of Surgery is one of four Operational Divisions within University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trusts (UHDB). It comprises four Business Units: Head, Neck, Eyes and Plastic (HNEP); General Surgery, Urology, and Vascular (GSU); Theatres, Anaesthetics, and ITU (A&T); and Trauma and Orthopaedics, covering General Orthopaedics, Trauma, Spines, and Hands from the Pulvertaft Centre (T&O).
Each Business is clinically led and operationally managed by a triumvirate: a Clinical Lead, a General Manager, and a Lead Nurse. T&O services are delivered across all sites, with outpatient appointments and diagnostics at two main hospitals and eight community sites. Surgeries are performed at Royal Derby, Burton, and Ilkeston Hospitals.
The UHDB T&O service is among the largest nationally. We seek driven, ambitious, skilled, and experienced leaders to help us achieve this. The GM role is challenging yet rewarding, offering a significant career step towards future director and executive roles within a large, complex organization.
