The role involves organizing and supervising the unit according to Compass Group UK & Ireland standards, contract specifications, and statutory regulations. You will be responsible for managing the unit efficiently, ensuring quality service, and overseeing food preparation, cooking, and service according to standards and specifications. Efficient resource use, including stock, team members, and assets, is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Strategically managing the business through your team
• Communicating, motivating, and guiding your management team and catering staff daily
• Taking overall responsibility for food and health & safety procedures in the college catering department
• Promoting the unit and acting as a Compass Advocate
• Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring high standards in client hospitality and seeking feedback
• Identifying opportunities to enhance services and discussing them with your line manager
• Introducing innovation and variety in food offerings
• Managing the budget, monitoring trends, and implementing corrective actions when necessary
• Delivering customer requirements in line with expectations
