Are you an experienced Ready-Mix Plant Manager, Concrete Production Manager or Operations Manager looking for an opportunity to take greater responsibility?

Pperhaps you've spent years running batching plants, managing production, coordinating deliveries and leading teams, but you're ready to move beyond managing a single site.

We're recruiting a General Manager for an established and growing ready-mixed concrete and concrete pumping business in Warwickshire.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who genuinely understands ready-mixed concrete operations and wants to play a bigger part in how a business operates, performs and develops.

The Opportunity

Working directly with the Managing Director, you'll take responsibility for overseeing daily operations across two ready-mixed concrete production facilities, concrete deliveries, transport activities and specialist concrete pumping services.

The business operates approximately 12 ready-mix trucks, two volumetric vehicles, concrete pumping equipment and associated production facilities.

You’ll be supported by an Operations Supervisor and a Compliance & Transport Lead, allowing you to focus on overall operational leadership, performance and business development.

This is an opportunity to move into a senior leadership position where your decisions will have a direct impact on the business.

The Role

As General Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing daily operations across ready-mixed concrete production, batching, deliveries and pumping services.
• Managing performance across 2 concrete production facilities.
• Leading operational teams, supervisors and supporting management personnel.
• Ensuring production schedules, batching activities and deliveries meet customer requirements.
• Monitoring plant efficiency, downtime, production costs and material wastage.
• Maintaining high standards of concrete quality, mix specifications, testing and BSI compliance.
• Supporting effective coordination between production, transport, drivers and customers.
• Taking overall operational responsibility for health, safety and compliance.
• Working with the Compliance & Transport Lead to maintain fleet standards and transport performance.
• Managing operational issues, customer concerns and day-to-day business priorities.
• Supporting cost control, profitability, customer retention and commercial decision-making.
• Identifying opportunities to improve working practices, operational performance and business growth.
• Working closely with the Managing Director to develop the business and strengthen its management structure.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have progressed through ready-mixed concrete operations and understand the industry from a practical perspective.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Strong practical experience in ready-mixed concrete production or a closely related industrial environment.
• A good understanding of batching plants, concrete production processes and plant performance.
• Experience managing people, organising workloads and maintaining production standards.
• Knowledge of concrete quality requirements, mix designs, cube testing and relevant certification.
• An understanding of how production, transport, dispatch and customer requirements work together.
• Experience managing health and safety in an operational environment.
• Commercial awareness, including controlling costs, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
• Confidence dealing with customers, resolving problems and making decisions.
• The ability to take ownership of operations and work independently when required.

Experience managing multiple plants, transport operations or concrete pumping would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
